I second the motion on workflow. It's really easy to sort and cull
photos. That is a really big plus. I would use Rawstudio even if that
was all it did.
The multiple views (A,B,C) makes it easier to check adjustments. This
function has improved dramatically with split screens.
I really like the "straighten" adjustment. I haven't seen this anywhere
else, although I haven't used mainstream proprietary products for a
while. Personally I can never hold a camera straight so it has helped me
enormously.
I also like that the developers are responsive to their users. They
never seem to get possessive about their project. Congratulations to
them.
UFRaw seems to be the only other serious raw processor in the "free"
world (?) and it seems to be very mature, but it's not anywhere nearly
so easy to use. I would rather use dcraw from the command line, then
post process in Cinepaint or GIMP.
On the down side, I'm still having trouble with 16 bit tif output.
Color management is listed as "experimental" and it seems to crash
whenever I try to use it. I mostly do web work, so it isn't a huge
problem.
